Glenn Beck: Anthony Weiner Endangered The Nation And ?Each And Every One Of Us?

by Jon Bershad | 5:49 pm, June 7th, 2011

Today on his show, Glenn Beck brought in an audience because, he explained, there are ?all these Weiner Facts to sift through!? He began by playing a game called ?Newsroom? in which he gave the audience the choice of two stories, one about the Anthony Weiner scandal and the other about a serious problem facing the country and asked them to choose which they?d cover. However, while the point of the game seemed to be that ?WeinerGate? is just a distraction, Beck seemingly contradicted himself in the next segment by explaining that Weiner?s online extracurriculars actually put the entire country at serious risk.

How were Twitter pictures of penises a national threat?

?Extortion. His wife is like this [CROSSING FINGERS] with the Clintons. You?re telling me there?s no foreign interest in getting someone near the Clintons? Or getting somebody close to anybody even in Congress? Or black mailing him for information? You?re telling me that that man didn?t endanger the lives of his wife? Didn?t endanger the lives of people around his wife, people around him, people of Congress, information of the United States? You?re darn right. Look what he did!?

Wow, that?s serious. So why would Beck be upset with news outlets focusing on a sex scandal instead of real issues (especially when he himself is spending so much time on it)?

God, I have no idea.
