Jon Stewart was impressed with the elaborate heist former Bush administration officials were trying to pull off: stealing credit for the killing of Osama bin Laden away from the man who actually ordered the kill, President Obama. Stewart stated, ?of course to steal this much glory, you?d have to reassemble the whole team,? before a video spoof of the movie Ocean?s Eleven played, humorously titled ?Nine?s Eleven.?
Stewart showed various clips of Bush?s supporters continuing to practice their ?shock and awe? campaign, as all of them bombarded various political talk shows. Obama?s response of sending out the mild-mannered and eager to share the credit National Security Advisor Tom Donilon, was met with Stewart?s comic disapproval. Stewart was forced to be left wondering, ?why are we listening to the Bush administration people anyway, they didn?t get Bin Laden? and compared them to the Winklevoss twins who didn?t create Facebook but keep claiming they did.

in fact, bush dismantled the bin laden search, i think, in 2006 or 2008it was in 2005 actually and you are right this is absolutely nothing like the moon landing. It would be like the moon landing if JFK had announced that we were ?going to the moon? and then discontinued NASA, so yeah if that is what these teabaggers meant then I guess they would be right.
Just a reminder the Taliban offered OBL to the Bush admin. 2 times and both times he refused.

These would be credible points if Obama hadn?t made the situation worse. How many jobs did he safeguard with the Stimulus package? Why did we need a lot of those projects? Still waiting for what research of X animal could do for X economy. Do explain that. :)No, because I believe criticisms of Obama?s handling of the economy are legitimate (I believe I made that clear in my first post). My point is that conservatives want to jump on every Obama failure while assuming every Obama success was actually thanks to Bush.

The Republicans have to go into full emergency mode to save Bush?s legacy. If they work this hard maybe they would?ve captured Bin Laden, but oh, thats right, Bush wasn?t really that concerned about Osama.

If we all weren?t complaining about the other side, this wouldn?t be a Republic.

So giving credit to Bush for our current economy is back on the table. I get it.
Thank you Bushers for putting our fiscal crisis back into perspective.

our ?liberal media? in action: wall-to-wall interviews with former bush officials, recycling discredited talking points, playing the victim, and forcing us all to vomit again.

tell me his pointThat Eric emailed Mediaite a storyline about this Stewart clip so that Mediaite could run with it.
I don?t agree with it, but at least you could attack his basic premise. MM?s web hit numbers are going down. That?s already been evidenced with data. So his premise would be that they are looking at outside media (Huff Po, DKos, DUnderground, Mediaite, etc.) for more story hits. As I said, I don?t think that?s happening but that?s his point.

That?s more summed up.

i just don?t understand how that would help MM, that?s all
for eric, sending a story to mediaite takes 4 seconds, and is not controversial if MM?s numbers are down
so??whether eric sent the story or not seems like a waste of brain effort

like i said, stewart?s critique speaks for itself, whether or not MM?s hits are down

There?s this thing called a remote or an on-off button. You choose to watch what you watch.there?s also this thing called ?the internets?, and whether you have a remote or on-off button makes little difference
in this place called ?the internets?because things just appear on your screen, these things called ?headlines?
and obviously, with so many headlines, public opinion is shaped
people start to ask ?gee, maybe cheney was right. he?s on television right now saying so?

I can?t think of any president that would not have ordered the hit, upon being given the information by the CIA and military, that OBL was under surveillance. That?s the bottom line. So please, let?s cut the bull that it was a gutsy decision, in fact it was the only decision that could be made.
